And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17
God loves and cares for His creation in many ways. The most important way He does this is through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Through Jesus God redeems His creation. God’s people proclaim this Good News to the nations so that all people might be saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
The love and care that God has for people and creation does not end with the redemptive work of Jesus. God loves people and cares for creation through people today through their various vocations in life. If you are a mother, then God loves your children through you. If you are a husband, then God loves your wife through you. If you pray for your neighbor, then God loves your neighbor through you. In whatever you do, God’s love is flowing through you!
Your faithful fulfillment of your vocations in life is not what makes you holy and righteous before God. You were clothed in the righteousness of Christ in Baptism. As a believer in Christ, God sees you as His forgiven and holy child! My life has been hidden with Christ in God (Col. 3:3). Paul also says in Galatians, “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” We Live in Christ, and Christ Lives in us! When you love, care for, and serve your neighbor – It is God at work though you to love, care for, and serve your neighbor. YOUR LIFE MATTERS BECAUSE GOD IS AT WORK THROUGH YOU!
