Connected in The Word 10-8-25

and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 2:2

I know some very smart people.  I know some very faithful people.  I know some people who are great teachers.  I also know some people who are smart, faithful, and know how to teach all at the same time.  I’ve been blessed tremendously by these people in my life.  These are people who hear the Word of God and rejoice in the Good News that Jesus lived, died, and rose to redeem all of creation.  These are people that confess their sin and believe the Gospel Promises of God.  These are people that use their God given gifts to proclaim and teach God’s Word to other people.

God gives different gifts to different people, and they are ALL valuable and can ALL be used to love others and glorify God.  I encourage you to use your God given gifts today to do just that in your various vocations in life.  Faithfully fulfilling your vocations in life to the glory of God and in service to others brings a satisfaction and sense of purpose that is hard to find anywhere else in life.

October is Church Worker Appreciation Month (No, I’m not sharing this because I’m a church worker)!  I’m sharing this because I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for the amazing church workers in my life.  As a child, and then a student, and especially now as a pastor I can not tell you how much I appreciate the church workers God has placed in my life.  If you are local and run into one of Immanuel’s many church workers (please don’t forget the incredible teachers in our school), please let them know how much you appreciate them.  They are an amazing bunch.  If you live elsewhere, be sure to let a church worker in your life know how much you appreciate them.
